Map integration

FirmaFeiten gets map integration. Addresses from the public KBO data can now be read not only as text, but also placed visually.

On a company page, you can now see more quickly where a company or establishment is located. This helps when you want to check an address, assess the location of a supplier or research multiple companies in the same area. Especially when street names appear in several municipalities, a map immediately adds useful context.

The map view is intended to support the existing company data. The official address remains the source information, while the map helps you understand that address more quickly. When an address can be recognized clearly enough, we show a location pin on the map. If that is not possible, the textual address information remains available as before.

For the interactive map, we use Leaflet together with OpenStreetMap map data. This fits well with FirmaFeiten’s purpose: bringing public company information together in an accessible way, without burdening the user with unnecessary technical steps.

This addition makes company pages clearer and more practical for everyday use. You are less likely to need to manually copy an address into a separate map service, and you can immediately see within FirmaFeiten whether the location matches what you expect.
